If I had to select a single article to send out, it would be this one. A lot of people get worked up over avoiding vendor lock-in, but lock-in isn’t a black-and-white issue. It’s full of shades of grey and this article sorts through those shades, names them, and offers a strategy forward.

An Internal PaaS to Manage AWS: Don’t Do It!
Atlassian built an internal system that they have placed in front of AWS to regulate access and to help aid in application deployment. The author of this article goes into why he thinks this is an anti-pattern. The articles were a good read for me because I’m currently in a situation with people on both sides of this argument.

Call me crazy, but Windows 11 could run on Linux
This is an opinion piece, but I have to agree with the author. The next Windows version could use a Linux kernel, and I’d be fine with that. As it stands I’m not sure I would purchase a machine to run Windows on anymore, not with the constant breaking updates. It’s all food for thought.
